What is Bowl for Kids' Sake all about?
Bowl for Kids' Sake is about helping kids reach their potential. Bowl for Kids' Sake (BFKS) raises crucial funds which make it possible to provide positive mentors in the lives of kids who need them. We ask participants to form teams of 4 bowlers and register your team with the Big Brothers Big Sisters office for a bowling date and time. Bowlers receive pledge forms and then ask their friends, family and co-workers to financially sponsor them in Bowling for Kids' Sake. Your team then celebrates your success with a bowling party! This includes 2 hours of free bowling, food, drinks, prizes and more!
Why should I Bowl for Kids' Sake?
Because your involvement really makes an impact! With the growing pressures put on today's families and youth, Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs are needed now more than ever. Time and time again, studies have shown the benefits of Big Brothers Big Sisters programs. We have almost 45 years (just in Helena) and over 100 years nationwide of proven success in creating positive friendships that benefit children, volunteers, families, schools, neighborhoods, and the community. Last year we served over 300 children in Helena and Boulder and we hope to serve even more in the future. You can help us reach this goal by being a part of BFKS and caring for children in your community!
How do I raise money?
It costs $1,000 to make and support a mentoring match for a year, so set your fundraising goal high and your team could sponsor a child for a whole year! Gather $100 in pledges and receive a great Bowl For Kids’ Sake T-Shirt. We make the fundraising easy with online giving and lots of tips. You can ask your friends, family, colleagues and dog walker to sponsor you and the Big Brothers Big Sisters cause. Your sponsors can donate on-line or by cash or check. An easy way to raise money is by setting up your own online fundraising page. Just email your friends and family a link to your page and watch the money roll in! Don't forget to bring your pledges and pledge form with the names of your sponsors to the bowling event.
Remember, every $20, $50 or $200 pledge makes a BIG difference for a child in Boulder. When you are bowling take a look at the other teams and feel good that you and the others at the bowling alley are a significant part of helping a child succeed in life!
This year's theme is "Pirate Bowl."
